Actually, the town has a particular shape, since has developed all around the old center and looks like a sort of giant fortress, with its fort hill situated on the hilltop: a visit to the tiny and characteristic streets is really worthy your while!

San Giovanni is also home to a wonderful interactive park realized amidst the gentle hills and holm oak that characterize the area by an American artist, the Bosco della Regnaia. There’s also another interesting track to mention for all those keen on trekking itineraries, which is unknown to most tourists (and thus perfect for having a walk amidst unspoilt nature and explore the real essence of Tuscany): this is the white road that connects San Giovanni d’Asso to Buonconvento passing through the Ombrone valley, completely immersed in the suggestive Crete Senesi landscape.
