The Tuscan estate Villa i Lami has been in the family for over 400 years and under the guidance of Diana has become a welcome haven for travellers looking for a tranquil and relaxing way to explore the beauty of Tuscany and Florence.

Three enchanting vacation rental apartments furnished with family antiques and in a typical country decor are the perfect backdrop to a holiday filled with authentic flavors, beautiful city tours, lush Tuscan landscapes and peaceful evenings enjoying the private gardens and large refreshing swimming pool. Though nestled within the ancient family holdings, Villa i Lami boasts a modern and comfortable environment with free WiFi service, air conditioning in most bedrooms and clothes washers in each apartment.

In the Family for Over 400 Years

The largest of the three holiday rentals is Piccolo Peccioli: with 2 double bedrooms and one bedroom with 2 single beds. There are two bathrooms, one with a tub and one with a shower. The living room area is large and comfortable with classical Tuscan fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped including a dishwasher, clothes washer and oven, as well as a refrigerator and stove. This vacation rental comes with a large private terrace, furnished with a garden table and chairs for morning meals outside or a picnic during the day. The bedrooms have air conditioning for the warmer months and screens on the windows.

Pecciolino apartment is comprised of 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms including one master bedroom with double bed, one bedroom with two single beds and one room with a single bed. Sitting room with fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen comes with a dishwasher and clothes washer, as well as a full oven. There is air conditioning upstairs (bedrooms), and you will find fans in all the bedrooms as well as screens on the windows. Enjoy the private terrace area just outside the front door for meals or snacks, especially a glass of Chianti wine and a few snacks for the local market.

La Casina is a private little nook just perfect for two persons. The main bedroom has either two single beds or upon request they will be made up as one large king size bed. The self catering apartment is comprised of one large room divided into a full kitchen with clothes washer, stove, refrigerator and space for cooking a full meal and a spacious, luminous living room. The apartment is air conditioned and has screens on the windows for a comfortable stay. There is a large garden area with a gazebo providing privacy and splendid panoramic views.

Close to the City While Enjoying the Countryside

Don’t miss your chance for an authentic Tuscan meal featuring the true flavours of the Tuscan countryside. La Casa di Caccia Restaurant specializes in traditional recipes and wild game, a treat for those who enjoy trying new dishes. There are several other restaurants nearby where you can vary with a pizza or perhaps some more elegant. The tram with direct access to Florence is located only 10 minutes from the holiday rental apartments and you can easily leave your car in the free parking lot and hop a trip into the historic center of Florence. For those days where you just feel like relaxing, then grab your towel and lay out by the pool, set in the middle of the family estate with olive groves and vineyards in every direction.

With Florence only a short distance away, you will have all the time you need to return and wander the labyrinth of streets and squares, finding new shops, markets and restaurants. Take your time and visit the major museums...and a few less known like that of Bargello or the Museum featuring the Masterpieces of the Duomo. Not far off is the city of Prato, particularly fascinating for its small historic center, the large castle - which is free to walk around and the many little cafes and restaurants. Just a little further, you will find Pistoia featuring underground passageways and an internationally acclaimed Jazz festival. You don’t need to travel far to find adventure in the hills around Florence, both Mugello and Casentino offer lovely national parks and even a lake for windsurfing, great for kids and bikers.

Nothing is too Far Away

The convenient position close to the major roads reaching towards Siena, Pisa and Montepulciano, make day trips a breeze. Head towards San Gimignano and walk the tower town or the via Francigena for a feel of Medieval Tuscany. Chianti is practically at your doorstep, and you can reach towns like Poggibonsi and the nearby castle of la Rocca di Staggia. South of Siena you can admire the totally unique landscape of Val d’Orcia and indulge in an afternoon (or an evening under the stars) at one of the many free thermal pools.
