The apartments host from 2 to 5 guests, with several offering the easy possibility of being rented together to have one of the cottages or villa for an exclusive holiday with extended family and friends. The estate and the gardens offer a wonderful location for special events, including business meetings.
All of the apartments have their own fully-equipped kitchens and living areas, are covered by WiFi and have air conditioning. The estate organizes a weekly “family” outdoor BBQ dinner in July and August where guests can meet each other, in addition to hanging out by the salt water pool or outdoor hot tub. If you wish to enhance your relaxation, you can request a massage or other beauty treatment directly in your apartment or morning yoga classes outdoors in the vineyards.

Whether you’re in Tuscany for the first time or coming back to see more of it, the location of the wine estate is ideal. It is not far from all of the main destinations of Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca, and its location closer to the coast makes it perfect for exploring the coastal wine area of Bolgheri, the beaches along the Etruscan Coast and Livorno. You can also stay inland and toward Volterra and San Gimignano. Most of all, it is perfect for exploring this area of Tuscany that by being “in between” the larger towns often times gets overlooked: the medieval villages of Vicopisano and other small towns in the Montepisano hills between Pisa and Lucca, the hot springs towns of Casciana Terme and San Giuliano Terme and the lovely hill town San Miniato.

While the owners of the estate are the Castellani family, wine producers in Tuscany for over 5 generations, I have been meeting and welcoming guests to Poggio al Casone since it opened its doors to guests in 2008. I have a small staff that has become a small family and are always present on the estate. We know our area very well and love to share its secrets and treasures with our guests, offering tips on what to do and visit in the area.
