Farmhouse near Florence, in Mugello

The origins of the farmhouse "I Nidi di Belforte" go back to the Middle Ages, when the small village with its guard tower dominated the valley of Belforte, land of the Count Guidi family.

Today the farmhouse is divided into 8 apartments, restructured and furnished in traditional Tuscan style. Each apartment has its separate entrance and garden. The farmhouse is the ideal location for enjoying a quiet and relaxing holiday in the Tuscan countryside surrounded by nature.

The small village is part of an agricultural farm of over 200 hectares and is at the center of a protected area where wild animals such as doe, deer and wild boar live undisturbed. The farm produces extra-virgin olive oil and saffron and the nearby woods furnish high-quality chestnuts.

The farmhouse "I Nidi di Belforte" is immersed in the green hills that surround Florence, in the valley of Mugello where the Medici family that so helped sponsor the Florentine Renaissance had its roots.

The farmhouse is the ideal base from which to visit Florence, Siena, Arezzo and other Tuscan cities of art or the small medieval villages that characterize the Tuscan landscape.

The farmhouse offers a panoramic swimming pool and cozy rooms in the old basement where you can play billiards, meet for small conferences and, upon request, taste Tuscan dishes.

Each apartment has its own private entrance and small garden, a kitchen area, small fireplace, independent heating and satellite TV. A laundry room is available for guests to use (fixed cost per load).

Guests at the farmhouse can enjoy the panoramic view over the countryside from the side of the beautiful 7 x 14 meter swimming pool.

In addition to the pool, guests can play billiards in the game room or relax in the various common areas.

In the area near the farmhouse you will find the international motor-racing track of the Mugello, the "Poggio dei Medici" Golf Country Club and the Lake of Bilancino where you can swim as well as practice aquatic sports.

In Reggello, anyone who loves shopping and designer labels can visit the outlet stores at "The Mall", where you can purchase Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Loro Piana and many other designer brands at discounted prices.

Check-in can be effected anytime after 4.00 p.m., while check-out is by 10 a.m. on the day of departure.

Electricity, natural gas used in the kitchen, water and bed linen are included in the price. Final cleaning charges and heating are, however, not included in the weekly rate.
