VINEYARDS & TUSCANY
Located in the Tuscan countryside near Vinci, Dianella is a great base to go out and visit the main sights in Tuscany, including Florence and Chianti.
The 16th-century villa is surrounded by vineyards and olive trees that produce quality Dianella Chianti wines and olive oil, all products you can taste and buy on-site, either in your room, in the wine cellars store or during your meals at the new restaurant which just opened this summer 2021.
The villa is surrounded by large and wide gardens that offer many corners and spaces with comfortable outdoor sitting areas from which to enjoy the view of the vineyards and olive groves. The new swimming pool also offers gorgeous panoramic vistas of the surrounding hillsides covered with vineyards.
Spacious and luminous bedrooms
First, let's start with the accommodation: the villa offers three spacious and bright bedrooms on the first floor of the villa, each with its own large bathroom. In each of the bedrooms you will find your own small wine cellar with Dianella wines... you can open up a bottle to enjoy a glass while you relax in the bathtub or to enjoy outdoors watching the sunset.
While the villa will increase the number of rooms (in 2022) by adding 6 additional ones in the stables behind the main villa, staying at Dianella will continue to offer an intimate setting for those on vacation in Tuscany wishing to enjoy peace and relaxation. It is perfect for couples and friends who wish to travel together, enjoying all the services of a modern hotel without the size.
You can see this in all the that the villa offers. Breakfast is also a quiet and delicious affair served outdoors in the garden when the weather permits, made with quality ingredients including seasonal fruits, homemade jams and fresh bread (the on-site restaurant is perfect for this) as well as the farm's products. Inside the villa is a large dining hall where breakfast can also be enjoyed.
Innovative Tuscan cuisine at the on-site Restaurant
In summer 2021, the villa opened its on-site restaurant to the public, open at lunch from 12pm. The menu offers many traditional Tuscan dishes with innovative twists to offer something different from local trattorias. The restaurant is also open for dinner, but at the moment only with advance bookings.
With the warm summer weather, guests can enjoy dining outdoors in the gorgeous villa garden. Guests staying at the villa can also take advantage of the "aperitivo" hour with drinks and cocktails served in the garden, with dinner to follow.
Visit the cellars, enjoy wine tastings & cooking classes
The villa's chef and restaurant kitchen offers guests the chance to enjoy learning how to prepare some of the most popular Tuscan trviprd in cooking classes as well as just enjoying cooking demonstrations before eating a meal prepared by the chef.
As a wine resort, you could never leave Dianella without a visit to their recently renovated wine cellars and winery. The visit includes the modern cellars where the wines are first pressed and undergo their initial fermentation, as well as the cement vat cellar where several of the estate wines are fermented for longer periods or aged in wooden barriques. Along the visit, there are instruments used on Dianella over the decades in wine making which make for an interesting contrast to the current tools being used (many of them are practically unchanged).
At the end of your winery visit, you cannot leave without tasting several, if not all, of Dianella's wines and olive oil, paired beautifully with local Tuscan products. In addition to the wine cellar tour and tastings, you can also enjoy the villa and its wine in a different experience: the villa often organizes wine and food events from spring through summer and into fall. Check out their website and see if an event is coming up as it will provide a special moment to enjoying the wine estate, the villa and the gardens.
A perfect location for weddings and events
It is almost superfluos to remark that the villa makes for the most gorgeous setting imaginable for a wedding reception and party, or for another special event like a meeting. The villa's large extensive garden surrounds the entire villa, with a patio area and the green lawns and pool area offering additional spaces where guests can mingle and enjoy. Behind the villa is a private chapel, and inside there are several large halls for organizing a special event here at any time of the year. For weddings and other special events, the villa offers use of the villa exclusive so that the entire property is open only to you and your guests.
In the Vinci countryside
The wine estate is located in a central location in Tuscany, with the Fi-Pi-Li motorway less than 10 minutes away. From there, it is easy to reach all of the main cities in Tuscany as well as other small towns, including San Miniato. Florence is just 30 minutes away, while Pisa is a 40 minute drive from the villa. Siena, Lucca and San Gimignano are 50 to 60 minutes away.
The town of Vinci, hometown to Leonardo da Vinci, is just a few kilometers away and here one can visit Leonardo's home and museum dedicated to his work, as well as find several restaurants and shops.
The villa staff is always on hand to offer any help, tips or suggestions as well as help with any bookings. While a car is recommended for exploring the area on your own, it is also possible to stay at Dianella without renting a car to drive on your own. For example, upon request, the staff can organize transfers from and to the Pisa or Florence airports, taxis to the local train station or book a car with chauffeur to take you wherever you want to go. If you wish to enjoy a tour of the area or across Tuscany, the villa can help with booking tour guides to show you around all the hidden corners of Tuscany, to go on a truffle hunt or hot-air balloon ride.
