There is ample land for hiking, relaxing or exploring, and guests are invited to spend time by the pool or in the shady gardens.

And for those extra special memories you can participate in the dinner banquet nights and savour the flavours of Tuscany or personalized cooking classes where you learn the secrets of the Tuscan kitchen or follow an itinerary to the local vineyards and quaint small towns in Chianti.

Cosy Tuscan Holiday Apartments

There is a selection of 5 self-catering apartments for 2 to 5 persons, carved out of the traditional Tuscan farmhouse buildings which have been lovingly restructured to preserve their natural rustic beauty. The design of each apartment was carefully thought out to be as eco-friendly as possible, leaving a negative carbon footprint yet always maintaining a high standard for guest comfort. Among the terracotta floors, polished wood beam ceilings and arched windows you will find that each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and large king size bed. Upon request, some beds can be transformed into two singles, easily accommodating families with children.

Il Forno and Tinaia are two 1 bedroom apartments which attract the romantic or those who enjoy a bit of extra privacy; both are on the ground floor and each has its own private entrance. The apartment Il Caminetto is named after the large Tuscan fireplace, and is a favorite with families for its fantastic views.

Le Stalle with its private covered terrace is excellent for eating al fresco and admiring the fabulous colors when the sun goes down. La Terrazza encompasses the oldest part of the house and dates back to the 14th century. Everyone enjoys a small terrace for outdoor meals and naturally cool temperature in the apartment during the summer months.

The apartments Stalle and Terrazza can have an extra bed or two added for children (on request and for a small surcharge).

Families, Friends & Large Groups

The Villa Patrignone houses up to 14 persons in 7 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, each decorated in a unique theme promising color, comfort and great views. There is a large eat-in kitchen which is furnished with a table large enough for 14, a stove, oven, dishwasher and a large refrigerator / freezer.

The villa was restored to maintain its striking Tuscan characteristics: exposed stone walls, large fireplace, terracotta floors and beautifully polished wood beam ceilings. The “Black & White” room and the “Traveller’s Room” feature a Juliet balcony where you can admire the scenery. The villa also has access to outdoor areas such as the Terracotta Terrace and the Olive Gazebo for outdoor meals, enjoying the naturally beautiful scenery and invigorating fresh air.

Taking Care of Tuscany

The eco-friendly facilities are just one of the many features that make Podere Patrignone extra special. They now produce more energy than they can use from carbon-neutral or carbon-free sources. They can honestly claim to be "carbon positive" actually removing more carbon from the atmosphere than they release.

The owners, Simon and Verity, are definitely an integral part of the holiday apartments and villa rental, offering invaluable local advice and a friendly face, answering questions and assisting you in perfecting your vacation itinerary. They have organized many activities (depending on the number of guests) which give you wonderful opportunities to relax right here on the olive growing estate: summer film nights, cooking lessons and Tuscan dinner banquets ... great sunsets with a poolside view, but they can’t take responsibility for Mother Nature ;-)

Take a stroll one of the cleared paths or simply watch the fish in the Koi pond. There are many quiet areas for reading, so bring your own book, or browse the onsite library.

Celebrate in the Countryside

Put the 5 apartments and the villa together and Podere Patrignone is a natural choice for planning parties, weddings and reunions. The gardens with their many colorful blooms and fragrances, invite you to appreciate absolute relaxation and tranquility, in the beauty of the Tuscan countryside. The entire venue can house between 30 and 33 adults & kids, and the outdoor terrace is perfect for a wedding reception, accommodating up to 50 persons.

The family-run farm is made for vacations, helping you set aside stress and even your cell phone for a couple of days. The old olive mill has been transformed into a common area with a library, free Wi-Fi service and an Honesty Bar, for an evening drink.

Seeing the Best of Chianti

The position of Podere Patrignone, between Castellina in Chianti and Barberino Val d’Elsa, is ideal for traveling throughout Tuscany and visiting the diverse and lovely small towns and scenery. Located between the two beautiful cities of art, Florence and Siena, it is easy to plan day trips exploring art, culture and history .

There is no need to go far to find activities for families and couples alike: wine tastings, archaeological and sculpture parks, castles and hiking are all close by in the Chianti hamlets like those of Radda in Chianti or Poggibonsi. And for anyone looking for a true Tuscan adventure, they can strike out towards Maremma and its Italian cowboys, or down towards Val d’Orcia with its soft rolling hills and endless vistas.
