Laid out on two floors, there are self catering apartments and a bedroom with extra special comforts: jacuzzi tubs, four poster beds. There is a beautiful common room with vaulted brick ceilings which boasts a large Tuscan style fireplace and antique feeding troughs. This room unites the beauty of the rustic past with today’s modern lines and simple decor. There is a beautiful Italian style park with olive and cypress trees, a swimming pool with private gazebos and a children’s play area.

Located in the Tuscan countryside it is close to several small antique towns, like that of Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino. Podere Raffaello is also close to restaurant, thermal water spas and several vineyards for wine tasting. Whether relaxing poolside, visiting art museums or taking advantage of the numerous nature trails, the agriturismo is your home away from home.

Southern Tuscany

Located in the stunning landscape of Val di Chiana, between Montepulciano and Cortona, Podere Raffaello incorporates the gentle beauty of Tuscany with its wide fields of grain, grass green expanses and soft rolling hills. The self catering apartments and one bedroom suite at the agriturismo boast a romantic and inviting decor incorporating the natural elegance of the antique architecture from the 1700’s. Surrounded by a private and fenced garden, there is a 12 x 7 meter swimming pool with several private gazebos for the guests and a play area dedicated to the younger guests.

The common room with its cosy warm fireplace, is the perfect setting for the home made breakfast buffet offered by Podere Raffaello. Arrange with the owners for a tasty meal and half board while staying at the agriturismo or plan a special meal in the apartment using one of the fully equipped kitchenettes or the outdoor BBQ grill available for everyone. It is possible to travel with your favorite four-legged companion, since cats and dogs are welcome. Please advise before you arrive the size of your pet. There is even space for boarding horses on the property.

Apartments & Room

Named after the several famous Italian artists, the apartments and bedroom are situated on the ground and first floor. Michelangelo, Botticelli and apartment Tiziano, on the ground floor, have an independent entrances and private garden areas. Whereas Raffaello is a bedroom suite with a delightful four poster bed — very romantic! The other two apartments Giotto and Leonardo are on the first floor and like all of the other accommodations, have a private bathroom, a quaint kitchenette and jacuzzi tub.

Each of the 6 accommodations are located in the main farmhouse, and feature spacious rooms, wi-fi and lots of natural light. The decor features soft pastel colors with the natural terracotta floors, stone and brick accents and a elegant yet simple style furnishings. The bedrooms are distinguished with their romantic four posters beds or the whimsical accents that lend a romantic air to the settings. The self catering apartments at Podere Raffaello have a private bathroom, many with a jacuzzi tub. All accommodations come with bed, bath and kitchen linens.

Activities Nearby

Situated in an area that has been long noted for its excellent wines, Podere Raffaello offers its guests the excellent possibility to explore the many “cantinas” and vineyards nearby. Fix an appointment and tour the wine cellars, olive groves and plan on tasting a few glasses of their best. For those who appreciate being in the outdoors, the position of Podere Raffaello couldn’t be better! There are several trails that one can travel either by foot or by bike at Lake of Montepulciano, which is less than a kilometer from the agriturismo. Arrange to go horseback riding, or explore the countryside on your own, and discover the beauty of Tuscany up close. Especially interesting is the wide range of thermal spas that make use of the warm waters that circulate just under the Earth’s crust near Chiusi, Chianciano and Montepulciano.

Close to many beautiful monuments the agriturismo of Podere Raffaello, provides the guests with a wonderful opportunity to uncover many hidden surprises — not just its wonderful cheese like those in Pienza, of the prized wines from Vino Nobile to the DOC wines near Cortona...and not even the unique pici pasta. There are many nearby towns that have a wealth of interesting museums, stories and activities. Chiusi to the south is a picturesque town, and Arezzo to the north boast a real Roman amphitheater. Go west, and find places like Trequanda, Siena and Montalcino.
