The soft classical lines of this Tuscan vacation villa will capture your attention and your heart. A beautiful structure in beige colored stone dating back to the 13th century has been lovingly restored to entice the imagination and relax the spirit. However beautiful the house, it comes in second place to the panoramic views which surround the vacation rental. As far as the eye can see one is surrounded by the essence of Tuscany: lush vineyards, green olive groves, fields of grain and the alluring Chianti hills.
Two Simple yet Elegant Villas
The villa plays with luminous rooms, simple lines and an unencumbered décor mixing the classical style of Tuscany with a mystical oriental touch of Thailand. Neutral colors are the perfect accent to the terracotta floors in the main part of the villa and the light wood floors in the bedrooms. The vacation home is divided into two parts which are rented together between May and October to ensure privacy.
The villa, with over 200 square meters, is set on two floors and offers a large living room with a wood burning stove and a study/TV room on the second floor. There is a fully equipped kitchen as well as a convenient laundry room with washer and dryer. The bedroom situation allows for many accommodating solutions for large groups and extended families with a total of 4 bedrooms in the main villa: 1 bedroom with en suite bathroom, one special bedroom located in the authentic Gothic tower including an en suite bathroom. In addition, there is 1 bedroom with two single beds (suitable for children) and the 4th bedroom has two single beds which can be combined for a large double bed these two bedrooms share a bathroom.
Attached to the main villa with a connecting door is The Fienile which can be rented separately from mid October till April. It houses one double bedroom and a large and comfortable sofa bed with one bathroom. Definitely an extra are the ceiling fans in all of the bedrooms for summertime comfort and the mosquito screens on the windows. Chianti Villa Montrogoli can accommodate a group of 4 up to 12 persons and the pricing varies accordingly. The living room in the Fienile has a comfortable sofa area including an inviting fireplace and there is a fully equipped kitchen with direct access to the garden area. Extra plus, all rooms have Wi Fi access.
There is a private pool (12 m × 5) with a unique salt water system only a short distance from the vacation rental and it has ample seating for enjoying the view. If you truly want to become part of the Tuscan panorama, it is possible to join in the harvest of the olive trees in October & November – or during the warmer months enjoy the fresh pickings from the owners vegetable garden. The owner’s are very enthusiastic about introducing you to the local community and that includes their KM 0 tours where they actively promote local vineyards, as well as organize your participation in cooking and language classes … and if you are looking for something special all you have to do is ask.
Tour the Hillside
Only minutes away from the sleepy little town of Mercatale located in the valley of the river Pesa in Tuscany, you can take advantage of the 8 free mountain bikes available at the villa to go for an afternoon gelato or the town market with fresh fruits, veggies, cheeses and local wares. The picturesque town of Greve in Chianti with its many cafes and restaurants overlooking the main square is a mere 10 minute car ride from the villa. Stop first to visit the fortified village of Montefioralle where time seems to have stood still – and the photo opportunities are endless.
No Need to Wander Far
The Chianti rental villa Montrogoli allows you to organize short day trips to San Gimignano where you can immerse yourself in the mystery of Tuscany with its tall towers and medieval streets. The historic cities of Florence and Siena are less than 45 minutes from the villa and promise top class art museums, designer shopping and delicious restaurants. Though the vacation rental appears to nestled deep within Tuscany’s countryside even day trips to Lucca, Pisa and Arezzo are still less than an hour away – you can go and visit and still be back in time to catch the sunset and a final dip in the pool before cooking up the local specialties on the grill.
For me, Montrogli is more than just a vacation home, it is the place where I was born, where I grew up and it is a part of my family. It was restored by my father, who was an architect specializing in the restoration of antique houses in Chianti. At first glance, you will see that the house has been furnished not as a rental villa – but exactly the opposite with care, love and special attention. Not only am I the owner of the house but I also work as a tour guide specializing in foody tours in Tuscany. Together with my sister we have created a project that includes cooking classes, wine & food tours and lessons in Italian. These activities are open not only to our guests but to all those who wish to deepen their knowledge of Tuscany, living an unique and authentic adventure. (www.kmzerotours.it)
