The colonica, which is another word for Tuscan farmhouse, is divided into two floors. The ground floor with its large covered terrace overlooking the pool area includes the dining area for the Tuscan styled breakfast and the home cooked lunches and dinners. All extra meals are available upon request and range from 15-20 Euros depending on a lunch or dinner menu. There are two full sized double bedrooms on the ground floor and each have their own private bathroom. The ground floor also houses a mini apartment with a kitchenette and double bedroom with a single bed for a total of 3 PAX. The mini apartment can include breakfast upon requests for a small fee. The decor is simple and comfortable, offering a welcoming atmosphere that immediately sets you at ease and makes you feel at home. The staff is available to assist you in settling in, answer any of your questions about the local activities, restaurants and maybe even suggest a few places to visit while you are staying in the area.

The first floor of the B&B Colonica Poggio Renai houses two bedrooms, each with its own private en suite bathroom. These bedrooms are furnished with a comfortable double bed and a single bed, there are suitable for up to three persons each. Though set in the lush green setting of the Tuscan countryside, particularly silent and enchanting, the B&B guarantees the comforts of modern amenities especially the free WiFi service. The cool evenings normally keep the environment at the perfect temps, but just in case there is air conditioning in the bedrooms. There is a laundry room available to the guests, as well as Sat TV. Not too far away you can visit a masterpiece of Romanesque art, capitals, pulpit and apse at the little church of Gropina. The larger town of San Giovanni, positioned in the valley on the Arno River, is busy with stores along the main thoroughfare, making for a perfect afternoon shopping trip. The area between the B&B and the town of Arezzo is dotted with small, yet delicious, vineyards for lazy afternoon of wine tasting.

Easy Day Trips for Wine & Art

The major roads for travel throughout Tuscany are less than 15 km from the B&B and will make getting around extremely easy. Organize day trips to Florence and Montepulciano to visit the the picturesque cobbled stone streets and spectacular palazzos and churches. This entire area is filled with vineyards including the Classical Chianti wines from Greve, Radda and Castellina in Chianti. Or you could venture to the other side of the Apennine mountains and explore the valley of Casentino starting with the castles in Poppi and Romena, the hermitage at Camaldoli and finishing up with a delicious meal based on porcini mushrooms and homemade pasta.
